5g vs 10g vs 20g Gold Bars in Bahrain: Compare Sizes and Prices

· MSS Gold Bahrain

For the same total weight of gold, buying one larger bar costs less at MSS Gold than buying several smaller bars. Our larger bar sizes carry a lower premium per gram. Here is a dated comparison showing the difference between 5g, 10g and 20g bars.

MSS Gold offers these sizes in 24K gold with 999.9 fineness. The examples below use the prices displayed on our live-rates homepage on . These are a snapshot for this comparison, not a live quotation. Gold rates and selling prices can change after this time; check the homepage for the price when you order.

Prices recorded on 19 September 2026

One barPrice per barPrice per gram
5gBD 289BD 57.80
10gBD 553BD 55.30
20gBD 1,091BD 54.55

The price per gram is the total bar price divided by its weight. In this snapshot, the cost falls from BD 57.80 per gram for a 5g bar to BD 54.55 per gram for a 20g bar.

Buying 5g bars one at a time

At the recorded rate, one 5g bar costs BD 289. A second 5g bar adds another BD 289, bringing two bars (10g in total) to BD 578. One 10g bar costs BD 553 instead, saving BD 25 for the same 10g weight.

Three 5g bars would total BD 867, and four would total BD 1,156. These sums assume every bar is bought at the same recorded rate. If you buy the next bar on a different day, its price will be the rate quoted when you buy it, so your actual combined cost may differ.

The cost of buying 20g: one bar versus several

Same 20g total weight, using the 19 September 2026 snapshot.
PurchaseTotal costExtra versus one 20g bar
One 20g barBD 1,091
Two 10g bars2 × BD 553 = BD 1,106BD 15
Four 5g bars4 × BD 289 = BD 1,156BD 65

One 20g bar saves BD 65 compared with four 5g bars, or BD 15 compared with two 10g bars, at the prices recorded above. All three options contain the same 20g of 24K gold; the difference is the premium included in the selling price.

Why larger bars have lower premiums per gram

The premium is the amount added above the underlying gold value to arrive at the bar’s selling price. It covers costs such as making, packaging and handling the bar, as well as the seller’s margin. Several smaller bars involve several individual pieces, so these costs are spread over fewer grams in each piece.

At MSS Gold, our pricing is structured so that a larger bar has a lower premium per gram. For the same total 20g bought at the same time, one 20g bar therefore costs less than four 5g bars or two 10g bars. A lower premium means a lower purchase cost for that weight; it does not mean lower gold purity. The exact prices and savings change as rates and premiums change.

Smaller bars still let you buy a lower weight at a time or give separate pieces to different recipients. If your aim is to buy 20g in one purchase at the lowest total cost among these options, choose one 20g bar. If you need separate pieces, weigh that convenience against the additional premium. Confirm availability and any buyback terms before ordering.
